This project was born out of the vision and thought leadership of this school’s awesome principal who approached us to design a mural in collaboration with a group of amazing students between the ages of ten and 12. There were three components to this project: collaborative concept development; mural design; and mural production.

As a starting point, we ran a group session at the school where we worked with students to extract ideas around what they felt was worth celebrating about their school. Once we had these ideas, our artist worked them in to a block letter form referencing each. This design was presented back to the students to ensure they felt the artwork captured all that they had wanted to highlight prior to being painted just in time for the school’s Christmas party celebration – providing a nice backdrop for the annual celebration.
