Hustle Hoops Basketball Coaching asked us to design their branding and merchandise and - in something new for us - sent us initial concepts created by a very talented 12 year old artist!
At first the clients felt a bit hesitant as they hadn't done something like this before. Dan included them in each step of the design process and guided them to a result they were ecstatic about.
Ben, Hustle Hoops
Hustle Hoops really liked the idea of graffiti lettering for their logo.
In the initial consultation Dan advised them that it's really important to make sure that graffiti lettering needs to be readable. This means that the graffiti letters can't join, or be too wild. Dan always designs logotypes to be readable from a distance.
Dan loved this brief as it got to combine his passion for graffiti and design - he dedicated a lot of time to making sure the clients were completely satisfied with the work.
I had great fun working on this stuff! Combining design and graffiti is something I love.
Dan created bespoke type design for the logotype, designing unique lettering by hand rather than using a font.
Good logo/brand marks have one visual idea incorporated in to them. Ben's idea was to focus on street basketball - this was the basis for the bricks and basketball in the final designs.
