Commissioned murals.

We've been creating commissioned murals across Australia since 2012. Murals for offices, restaurants and bars, hotels, retail spaces, public walls, schools, homes and any space that needs something more.

Every mural is designed to brief, painted by an artist (Dan) and managed end to end by a single project manager (Helainie). Dan is a 30-year graffiti and street art veteran with a graphic design degree and an artist's eye for what works in a space. Helainie handles every project from quote to completion. You deal directly with us from the first conversation. No platform, no middleman, no unpleasant surprises.

We work to brief, to budget and to brand. Dan paints in any style: graffiti, street art, illustration, photorealism, brush work, stencil, mixed media or whatever the brief calls for. We've delivered over 500 projects for clients across Australia.

Dan and the team are the best around. Could not recommend them highly enough. They created an amazing series of artworks for our business. 10/10.

WE ARE 90 DEGREES

One artist - Dan. One project manager - Helainie. Together we create murals that make spaces better. We think our work speaks for itself. It's what we're known for. It's what we love doing. We've been in business since 2012. And Dan's been painting his whole life.

Some things you may be wondering.

How does the mural commissioning process work?

Every commission follows the same four stages. First, the brief: we have an initial conversation to understand the space, your goals, your audience and any brand guidelines or references. Second, the design: Dan develops a full-colour digital mock-up scaled to the wall, so you know exactly what will be painted before he picks up a can. Third, the production: once the design is signed off, Dan paints. Helainie manages timing, site access, materials and any coordination with other contractors. Fourth, the completion: we hand over the finished mural with documentation, leave the space clean and follow up to make sure you're happy. No surprises along the way. What you approve is what gets painted.

How much does a commissioned mural cost?

It depends on the wall, the design, the location and the materials. A small interior mural with a simple design sits at one end of the scale. A large exterior commission requiring access equipment and protective coatings sits at the other. We base our costs on a set day rate and allocate days for each project for design and production. On top of those costs we add a materials fee costed out based on a square meterage and any access hire costs. The best way to get an accurate quote is a free 30-minute consultation where we can scope your project properly and provide a fixed quote.

Should I commission a mural directly or use an artist booking platform?

It depends what you value. Booking platforms promise convenience and a large pool of artists to choose from. What they don't tell you is that they take a significant commission from both sides, which means the fee you've budgeted for the artist gets diluted before it ever reaches them. A platform taking 20% means the artist working within your budget is actually working to 80% of it, which affects the quality and experience level you can access. Platforms also limit direct communication until you've paid for premium access, and when something goes wrong, getting a resolution isn't straightforward. When you commission directly, you deal with the artist and project manager from day one, the entire budget goes to the work, and there's a clear point of accountability throughout. For one-off events that's a useful difference. For a permanent mural in your space, it might be the difference between an artwork that nails the brief and one that leaves you wanting.

What kinds of murals do you create?

Anything. Dan paints murals for workspaces, hospitality venues like restaurants, bars, hotels and cafés, retail spaces, public art commissions, residential homes, pool areas, schools and event activations. We deliver projects across Melbourne and Sydney as standard and travel Australia-wide for the right project. How long does a mural commission take?

It depends on the size, complexity and our schedule at the time of enquiry. As a guide, a small interior mural can be turned around in two to three weeks from brief to finished artwork (faster is definitely possible). A larger commercial or exterior commission typically takes four to six weeks. Public art commissions and projects requiring engineering, certification, community consultation or council approvals can take two months or longer. Lead time is key: the more notice you can give us, the better we can scope, design and schedule the work. Can you paint something I made using AI?

Sometimes, but it depends on what you've made and what you're trying to achieve. AI is great for early concept exploration, mood boards and quick visual references, and we'll happily use an AI-generated image as a starting point for a conversation. Where it gets complicated is treating an AI image as a finished design ready to paint. AI outputs are typically raster files with limited resolution, inconsistent detailing and proportions that don't always translate to a wall at scale. AI doesn't intimately understand Dan's skill set and what kinds of artworks will play to his strengths. They can also pull from existing visual datasets, which means your "original" design may not be as original as you think. What we can do is take your idea, your reference, your inspiration (whether that's an AI image or anything else) and develop it into a properly designed, scaled, original artwork that works in your space. The result is a mural that's genuinely yours, painted by hand, with all the depth and craft an AI render can't deliver.
